Paul Anka, Burton Cummings and Buffy Sainte-Marie are set to headline a four-day event celebrating Canada's Walk of Fame.

The Toronto concerts, to be held Oct. 14-17, coincide with this year's Walk of Fame induction ceremony, scheduled for Oct. 16.

Anka will play at Massey Hall on Oct. 14, with Cummings set to take the stage at the same venue on Oct. 15. Sainte-Marie will perform at the Elgin theatre on Oct. 16.

A comedy show featuring Mary Walsh, Colin Mochrie, Don Ferguson, Roger Abbott and Debra DiGiovanni is scheduled for Oct. 17.

Tickets go on sale Aug. 16.

Organizers say 50 performances will be announced and 40 will be free.

"The goal of this four-day event is to not only honour some of the legendary performers this country has produced, but to also inspire the next generation of emerging Canadian talent," said Walk of Fame president Peter Soumalias.

This year's seven inductees are musician David Clayton-Thomas, actor Eric McCormack, singer Nelly Furtado, author Farley Mowat, filmmaker/actress Sarah Polley, Olympian Clara Hughes and the late magician Doug Henning.

Each inductee receives a star in the sidewalk of Canada's entertainment district.

Margaret Atwood, Howie Mandel, James Cameron and Michael J. Fox are among the celebrities who have been honoured since the Walk of Fame began in 1998.
