Canada's fifth largest ballet company, Ballet Jorgen Canada, is saying goodbye to its co-founder, Susan Bodie. A professional dancer with the National Ballet of Canada and les Grands Ballet Canadiens, Bodie worked with such figures as Rudolf Nureyev, Natalia Makarova, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Karen Kain before she and Bengt Jorgen, a veteran of the Royal Swedish Ballet, launched Ballet Jorgen in 1987 (it's now a 50-member company with 18 dancers).

While Jorgen served as artistic director, Bodie oversaw day-to-day operations. The company has built its reputation and audiences thanks to a rigorous tour schedule.

In November, 2005, Grace DeLottinville became director of operations. With that handover almost complete, Bodie will continue to serve on the company's governance committee.
