Esi Edugyan won the 2011 Scotiabank Giller prize for "Half-Blood Blues."

We are deep into our online conversation about Half-Blood Blues, by Esi Edugyan, but it's not too late to have your say. The novel, which won the Scotiabank Giller Prize in 2011, is about an interracial jazz band in Germany in the treacherous lead-up to the Second World War.

The beauty of an online book club is you can join in any time and from any online connection. You don't have to be anywhere at a particular time; you don't even have to get out of your pyjamas. All you have to do is read the book and respond to the daily questions.

On Monday at noon ET, we have a special guest. Jazz expert, musician and writer David Lee plays the double bass and the cello and is the author of The Battle of the Five Spot: Ornette Coleman and the New York Jazz Field and Chainsaws: A History. He's joining us at noon EST to talk about jazz in Paris and Berlin in the 1930s and Half-Blood Blues.

Meanwhile, check out our ongoing conversations about the book and get Esi Edugyan's own playlist for Half-Blood Blues here.
