A Toronto-made sex farce drawn in broadest strokes, Club Utopia may be slightly more fun to describe than to watch.

Sally Enitlov (Elise Muller) is the bored wife of chauvinistic securities trader Alex (Srdjan Nikolic), who prefers spending time with a sexpot secretary (Inna Ivanova) who indulges his toe-sucking fetish.

Looking for fulfilment, Sally takes a job as a dancer at a strip club, Club Utopia, and eventually decides she wants to murder Alex with the help of a genially sleazy private detective, Sabatini (writer-director Frank A. Caruso).

The film's marginal low-life characters – including Sabatini's oily henchman Mr. Cologne (Shiraz Tayyeb) and Brett Halsey as a weary strip-club owner – are moderately amusing, while the central performances are pitched too shrill.
