Oh boy, does he ever. Machete (Danny Trejo) kills with guns. He kills with a machete (no surprise there). He'll pull a man's guts out with his bare hands, all while being chased by a band of leather-clad, machine-gun-wielding prostitutes.

Like its predecessor, Machete, this is an over-the-top grindhouse extravaganza. There's plenty of cheesy schlock: a mission to capture a man with a bomb's detonator wired to his heart, a villain played by Mel Gibson dressed like Dr. Evil who is out to destroy the world, a U.S. president played by Charlie Sheen, and plenty of blood splatter.

But it is all so intentionally ridiculous that it gets boring, and you just wait for the next big cornball revelation to momentarily jolt you awake, like Sofia Vergara strapping on her machine-gun bra, or Lady Gaga's appearance as a hit woman. Machete kills, sure. Unfortunately, he overkills.
