Filmmaker Xavier Dolan, 20, who wrote, produced, directed and starred in "I killed my mother" (J'ai tué ma mère), has been so busy since he got back from Cannes that he hasn't had a chance to return a call from Brad Pitt's production company.Andre Tremblay

Quebec director Xavier Dolan is set to return to the Cannes Film Festival with his second feature, Les amours imaginaires.

Telefilm Canada has announced that the movie will be part of the festival's official selection known as "Un certain regard," and is the first Canadian title to be presented in that category since 2001's Atanarjuat (The Fast Runner).

The official Cannes line-up was announced Thursday in France.

Dolan's first film, I Killed My Mother (J'ai tue ma mere) debuted at Cannes last spring, where it won three prizes and began a celebrated run on the festival circuit.

Canada will also be represented by Toronto director Atom Egoyan, who will serve as president of the Festival de Cannes' 2010 Cinefondation and Short Film Jury.

The Cannes Festival runs May 12 to May 23.
