vancouver 2010

Lou Reed will be in Vancouver during the 2010 Winter Olympics to take part in what is sure to be one of the highlights of the Cultural Olympiad.

Hal Willner's Neil Young Project will feature a host of musicians paying tribute to Neil Young in concert. Reed has been added to the list of confirmed artists taking part, along with Jason Collett and Kevin Drew of Broken Social Scene, Canadian indie musicians Julie Doiron and Liz Powell, American jazz and blues guitarist/singer James "Blood" Ulmer, 1960s folk musician Vashti Bunyan, and Scottish folk musician Alasdair Roberts. VANOC is set to announce the line-up additions officially next week.

Led by visionary music producer Hal Willner, the concert will also include performances by Rox Sexsmith and Joan As PoliceWoman.

The show takes place on Feb. 18 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
