For the first time, BBC Worldwide is taking the Last Night of the Proms to big screens worldwide, broadcasting the famed concert live to Cineplex Theatres in Canada, Japan, Germany, Norway, Australia, among others, Sept. 12.

The Last Night concert, which the BBC has dubbed the "biggest classical-music party in the world," will appear on dozens of Cineplex screens across Canada, in digital surround sound. The BBC and Cineplex Entertainment are also partnering with BY Experience, the company behind the internationally successful Metropolitan Opera Live in HD endeavour.

Founded in 1895, the Proms are seen and heard by millions of people each year through television and radio, in addition to the 5,000-plus people who pack London's Royal Albert Hall on the closing night.
