From dating to marriage to separation, all in less than a year: The Kardashian-Humphries story

She was Kim Kardashian, the daughter of one of O.J. Simpson's wealthy Los Angeles lawyers who shot to fame by starring in a sex tape with a rapper and then further enhanced her brand by starring in a reality television show about the deeply fascinating lives of her and her uber-rich family members.

By February, Kim Kardashian was blowing full-on kisses to her man during his professional basketball games, making it even more difficult for Humphries to face his teammates in the locker room afterwards and prompting speculation about possible nuptials.

May was just another typical month for a totally relatable couple in the bloom of young love. On May 18, Humphries proposed marriage with a $2-million, 20.5-carat diamond ring, and then on May 27 they attended an exclusive fashion event in Monaco.

Here is a closeup of the wedding ring. We can't show you their wedding on Aug. 20 because they sold the photos to People magazine for $2.5 million. They also sold the rights to turn their wedding into a reality TV show for $15 million. And they got $400,000 worth of champagne, free dresses and a free cake, according to various reports. "It was like we were in heaven," Kardashian told People magazine. And what girl doesn't feel that way on the day of her totally comped multi-million-dollar wedding!

And now we move on to the post-wedding era. Here is the couple on Aug. 31 at a party welcoming them to New York City, where they planned to live, love and grow together.
