In the wake of her roller-coaster ride through the beauty pageant world, Vancouver-based transgendered beauty contestant Jenna Talackova is having a similar experience, it would seem, with reality television.

On Wednesday morning, it was reported that Talackova would be the subject of a reality TV series. The information came out of the so-called "upfront" announcements held by Shaw Media, where it revealed the fall line-ups for its various properties, including the Lifetime channel.

At the announcement, there was a clip of Talackova in a montage featuring upcoming programming. When a reporter asked if a reality show about Talackova was headed to Lifetime, a Shaw executive said "yes."

A few hours later, Shaw released a statement: "At the Shaw Media Upfront press conference this morning, a question was misinterpreted which resulted in coverage stating that Shaw had picked up a reality show featuring Jenna Talackova. This show is not part of Lifetime's channel lineup and has not been commissioned by the network. Further details on the full Lifetime schedule will follow in coming weeks."

Talackova became a media sensation when she was disqualified from the Miss Universe Canada pageant because she was not a "naturally-born female." She fought the decision, and pageant owner Donald Trump ultimately said she could compete in the pageant, which was held in Toronto earlier this month. She didn't win (she made it into the top twelve), but high-profile human rights lawyer Gloria Allred, who took on her case, called her "a civil-rights pioneer."
