Contestants Dan, Cutter and Chef Gordon Ramsay during the seafood Challenge in an all-new episode of MASTERCHEF airing Monday, June 30 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.Greg Gayne

MONDAY, JUNE 30

MasterChef (Fox, CTV, 8 p.m.)

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the MasterChef kitchen. The sixth season of Gordon Ramsay's no-nonsense cooking competition has already weeded out the weaker amateur chefs and identified the designated reality-show villain (that would be Leslie, the Malibu stay-at-home dad whom everybody hates). In tonight's "Mystery Box" challenge, the remaining 16 contestants are tasked to prepare a unique meal using only canned goods. The twist in tonight's show: The dishes prepared in the final elimination round will be judged by the reigning MasterChef champion, Luka Manfe, and last year's MasterChef Junior winner, Alexander Weiss – and for a 13-year-old, Big Al knows his way around a spatula.

TUESDAY, JULY 1

Buddy's Bakery Rescue (TLC, 10 p.m.)

You have to hand it to Buddy Valastro: The man lives to give. Besides hosting the TLC shows Cake Boss and Cake Boss: The Next Great Baker – and running Carlos Bakery in New Jersey – the affable master baker somehow finds time to helm this series in which he lends his baking and business expertise to struggling bakeries all over the U.S. In the second-season opener, Valastro rolls into Delaware, N.Y., on a rescue mission to Bing's Bakery, which has been in operation since 1946 but recently fallen on hard times. The problem: Owner and head baker Tom Guzzi keeps losing money, largely because his menu is jammed with literally hundreds of items. In his inimitable gentle manner, Buddy imparts the lesson that sometimes less can be more.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 2

Criminal Minds (CBS, CTV Two, 9 p.m.)

For viewers who like their crime stories wrapped up in a convenient hour-long package, this show has become Wednesday-night appointment viewing (besides serving as a fitting aperitif for CSI). And the show's enduring appeal is made evident in tonight's rebroadcast episode from the most recent ninth season: FBI profiler David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) tasks the Behavioural Analysis Unit to investigate the deaths of several people smack in the middle of the Las Vegas desert. The bizarre part: All the victims drowned.

THURSDAY, JULY 3

Millionaire Matchmaker (Slice, 9 p.m.)

Call her a hopeless romantic, but Patti Stanger still believes everybody has a soul mate out there – somewhere. The L.A.-based professional matchmaker remains the entire reason to watch this popular reality series, now in its seventh season. And Patti earns her fee in this week's new outing as she tries to make a love connection for New York socialite Justin Ross, who made his fortune designing pocket squares for men's suits. Of course, her job isn't made any easier by the fact that Justin is a hopeless narcissist and wants a Kate Upton lookalike on his arm. Watch Patti knock some sense into the big jerk.

FRIDAY, JULY 4

Surviving Evil (Slice, 9 p.m.)

Recently returned for a sophomore season, this docu-series from the Investigation Discovery Channel re-enacts the true-life stories of women who were faced with life-threatening situations and lived to tell of them. Fittingly, the show is hosted by former Buffy the Vampire Slayer regular Charisma Carpenter, who survived her own ordeal with a gun-toting madman in 1991. This week's new episode recounts the horrific case of Debbie Puglisi, who was in her New Jersey home in 1998 when a crack-addicted man broke in and murdered her husband. The predator also abducted Debbie and held her captive for days, during which time she recalls listening to news reports that local police considered her the prime suspect in her husband's death.

SATURDAY, JULY 5

Chrome Underground (Discovery, 10 p.m.)

For those viewers looking for a different sort of reality show, buckle up. This new unscripted series introduces professional "car hunters" Yusuf Johnson and Antonio Brunet, who make their living buying and selling extremely rare and vintage automobiles. What makes it different: Yusuf and Antonio aren't exactly the most scrupulous businessmen as they try to procure the right vehicle for the right price. In the opening show, the pair venture into Mexico City in search of a coveted 1937 Type 57 Bugatti that is literally worth millions. The sticky part: To get the car, they have to blindly trust a Mexican local, who also happens to be a paid mercenary.

SUNDAY, JULY 6

Real Lives of Supermodels (CBC News Network, 10 p.m. ET)

Get ready to strike a pose, and feel empathy for the rich, thin and beautiful. The buzz movie at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, this acclaimed documentary takes an unflinching look at the modelling world and the human casualties it often incurs. Mostly, it's a telling collection of sordid tales involving drug use and decadent lifestyles coming from several former models, including Paulina Porizkova, Bethann Hardison and Isabella Rossellini, with almost none of them speaking highly of the modelling profession that blindly worships youth and casts aside anyone over 30. Asks former model (and Mick Jagger's ex-wife) Jerry Hall: "Why shouldn't we be allowed to age?"
