SCIENCE The Nature of Things CBC, 8 p.m. ET/PT Host David Suzuki gets very serious in tonight's edition of this venerable science series. The program rewinds the clock to March 11, 2011, when the northeastern seaboard of Japan was struck with a monstrous earthquake registering 9 on the Richter scale. Within a half hour, a massive tsunami slammed ashore, claiming more than 20,000 lives and wiping out hundreds of thousands of homes. The ensuing crisis at the region's nuclear plants had the world waiting and watching for months. Suzuki travels to Japan one year later to examine how Japan has grappled with the disaster trifecta – earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown – and the result is a revealing profile of a country still trying to rebuild.

DRAMA The Finder Fox, Global, 9 p.m. ET/PT Since this midseason series is a spinoff from Bones, it was only a matter of time before some characters made the cross-over. In tonight's new episode, the regular Bones character of quirky Dr. Jack Hodgins (TJ Thyne) makes available his talents to professional finder-guy Walter (Geoff Stults), who is desperately trying to find signs of extraterrestrial activity. Hey, wasn't this a storyline on The X-Files once?

REALITY Jersey Shore MTV, 10 p.m. ET/PT Are you still crazy about the guys and gals of Seaside Heights? Ratings for this once freakishly-popular MTV series have been steadily dropping south of the border, which means that this fifth season will likely be the last. Of course, if you are a fan, you probably already know that nearly half the cast are already signed to do their own new reality shows on MTV, so no big loss. Whatever the case, in tonight's new episode, Jenni finally confronts Pauli's stalker, Snooki sets her sights on Vinny – yet again – and the entire cast tries to avoid being bitten by a shark on the New Jersey beach. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water.

MOVIE Mystic Pizza AMC, 10:30 p.m. ET; 7:30 p.m. PT Now here's a blast from the past. A surprise box-office hit in 1988, this romantic comedy-drama was one of the first film roles for Julia Roberts, whose hair was positively frizz-tastic in those days. Roberts steals the show in the role of Daisy, a working-class teen just out of high school who takes a summer job at a pizza place in Mystic, Conn., along with her sister Kat (Annabeth Gish) and pal Jojo. In between flinging pizza pies, Daisy learns about love, life and the fact that she really doesn't want to settle down with boyfriend Charlie (Adam Storke). Dated but fun.
