COMEDY Hot in Cleveland CTV, 8:30 p.m. Fortysomething girls just want to have fun in this old-school sitcom from the U.S. cable channel TV Land. Currently in its third season, the show’s premise casts TV veterans Jane Leeves (Frasier), Valerie Bertinelli (One Day at a Time) and Wendie Malick (Just Shoot Me) as Joy, Melanie and Victoria, three unattached L.A. doyennes who reboot their lives in Cleveland. The inimitable Betty White lends support as their crusty caretaker Elka. And does love bloom in the city of bowling shirts and bratwurst? In tonight’s episode, Joy makes the mistake of dating one of Victoria’s co-workers, while Melanie hooks up with a seemingly nice guy, unaware that he’s obsessed with her feet.

DRAMA NCIS: Los Angeles CBS, Global, 9 p.m. Still ranking among the most-watched scripted shows on U.S. network television – and holding strong in the Canadian top 10 programs – this crime procedural always doubles up on the ominous factor when the Naval Criminal Investigative service stalwarts interact with another government agency. Tonight, the NCIS squad partners with the NSA (National Security Agency) to located the creator of a software program linked to a cyber attack against the U.S. Department of Defense. At the same time, NCIS hotshot Callen (Chris O’Donnell) uncovers some new, and rather shocking, revelations about his family’s past.

REALITY Flying Wild Alaska Discovery, 10 p.m. Originally created for the U.S. edition of Discovery Channel, this unscripted series follows the daily routine of the Tweto family, who own and operate the airline Era Alaska. Based in the remote town of Unalakleet, the airline is the only supply lifeline for people in the region. Patriarch Jim Tweto runs the company with help from his wife Ferno (real name) and daughters Ayla and Ariel. As in most reality shows, the format affixes grand human drama to each new work day. Tonight, for example, the whole family panics when Ariel runs into trouble while piloting a new and unfamiliar aircraft.

MOVIE Defending Your Life Vision, midnight ET, 9 p.m. PT Following the lead of Woody Allen and other film auteurs, Albert Brooks wrote and directed this 1991 romantic comedy, so naturally he also took on the lead role. Brooks plays a smug advertising executive named Daniel who one day smacks his brand-new BMW into a bus and is thereafter whisked to the great hereafter, or more specifically, to a purgatory-like existence known as Judgment City. Once settled in, Daniel is forced to review past incidents from his life and falls for a divine soul named Julia (Meryl Streep). The great Rip Torn lends strong support as Daniel’s gruff case worker, Bob.
