A guide to the wattage of stars in the news this week

SETH ROGEN: 40 watts
This week Rogen was a guest on the premiere of "Conan" and made headlines for proposing to his girlfriend while she was topless. But other than that, the Vancouver-born actor doesn’t have much in the works. He seems to be laying relatively low for now, with several films slated for release next year, including "The Green Hornet." Probably a good thing, too, because Rogen was reaching maximum over-exposure levels.

RACHEL McADAMS: 80 watts
Attaining the title of America’s Sweetheart isn’t easy, and it comes with a fine pedigree (hello, Julia Roberts!). But McAdams’s role in "Morning Glory" seems to be edging her towards the honour. Roger Ebert himself, who says McAdams “blooms” in the film, tweeted that she could become America’s Sweetheart if she weren’t Canadian. Details, details. McAdams is next in line for the crown.

JAMES FRANCO: 100 watts
Forget that Dos Equis guy – Franco is the most interesting man in the world. No one in Hollywood is burning brighter than the 32-year-old actor. He has become the object of everyone’s fascination with his numerous side projects (grad school, a recently released collection of short stories, a starring turn on "General Hospital," among many others), and now his performance in "127 Hours" is generating Oscar buzz. The man is a cut above!
