From cosmology to climate change to CRISPR, Ivan Semeniuk has been reporting on science for The Globe and Mail since he joined the newspaper in 2013. A career science journalist, he was previously chief of correspondents for the journal Nature, U.S. bureau chief for New Scientist magazine and a producer and columnist with Discovery Channel, Canada. Prior to becoming a journalist he spent more than a decade developing exhibits and programs at the Ontario Science Centre. His work in different media has garnered several awards and nominations including the Royal Canadian Institute's Sanford Fleming medal for contributions to the public understanding of science.
