FRED. G. GARDINER expressway L.F. Frederick Gardiner Expressway will be built to the south on an elevated square to avoid Fort York and adjacent Military Cemetery as a result of decision by Metro Council yesterday. White lines superimposed on aerial view of the area show the proposed expressway route, also location of an interchange planned later with Highway 400. Construction of the expressway east from Strachan Ave. to Bathurst ST. is expected to start this fall.
