A newborn girl is apprehended from a First Nations family by Winnipeg Child Services

The incident occured on January 11, 2019, and video was streamed to Facebook by a family member. Statistics from the Manitoba government show newborn apprehensions occur, on average, about once a day in the province. About 90 per cent of kids in care are Indigenous. The Globe and Mail blurred the video to protect the identities of those involved.
