The Globe's Ian Brown and SOMA Chocolatier David Castellan put their own spin on the recipe made famous by Alice B. Toklas, the lifelong companion and lover of Gertrude Stein, whose house in Paris hosted night salons that kick-started the careers of Matisse, Hemingway, Picasso, Cezanne and Thornton Wilder, among many others.
