It has been a busy week since the launch of our new publishing system. A lot of our loyal readers came forward to report bugs or other concerns about our new site.

I'm happy to say that in a few short days we've made a lot of progress on some of your biggest concerns and truly appreciated the feedback. There's a lot more to come, but here are a few of the things that we've fixed so far:

Cryptic crosswords

Some readers weren't able to see the clues (making the puzzle a little too cryptic). They should now be visible for everyone. We are working on making them more printer-friendly, as well. In the meantime, if you print in landscape mode, and choose just the page with the puzzle on it, it will help make the puzzle more readable.

Mobile website

We experienced a disruption in service over the weekend, but everything should be back to normal now - including images across all our mobile sites.

News apps

If you are still having issues with the home screen on your iPhone, BlackBerry or iPad news app, please reset the home screen to default and restart the app. If that doesn't work, please e-mail us at websupport@globeandmail.com and we'll help fix the issue.

Author pages

A lot of you were looking for articles by a particular columnist or Globe writer. We now have dedicated pages for each of our writers. For example,

The url always follow the same logic. If you notice anyone is missing, or their page isn't working, please let us know in the comments.

Watchlist on IE7

Some users with older browsers were experiencing issues with sorting and saving their Watchlist. This has now been fixed. Please let us know if you encounter any other issues with Watchlist.

Comments page improvements

We did a complete overhaul of the typography and styling of our comment threads. We also put in a fix for the issue where it wasn't saving the comment sorting applied. Some readers may still be experiencing issues with this, and we're looking into it.

New gallery format for editorial cartoons

We tweaked our photo gallery template to allow for deeper images. This will ensure that our editorial cartoons are collected on monthly instalments and are never cut off.

Those are just the highlights. There were dozens of other styling and site performance issues that we put in place. Look for a lot more changes coming next week.

In the meantime, please don't hesitate to leave us your thoughts in a comment on this post, or contact us at websupport@globeandmail.com.
