Mind games like crosswords and Sudoku are often considered diversions with mental benefits. But the jury is still out on whether it works.

We've read the reports about how important it is to keep your brain active and puzzles such as Sudoku and crosswords are a great way to do that. So we let you down today with a puzzle in the paper that was not doable: no matter how hard you might have tried. The grid and the clues didn't match as they were from two different puzzles.

So tomorrow in the Arts section, we will make it right with two puzzles: the correct one for today's paper and the correct one for tomorrow. In the meantime, if you want that mental exercise please see our puzzles online:
