deals of the week

The race to electrify cars around the world is showing no signs of slowing down. Sales of electric vehicles in Canada exceeded 18,500 in 2017, a 68-per-cent increase year-over-year. As well, with sales of nearly 7,500 units last year, Ontario pulled ahead of Quebec for the first time as the province with the most EVs sold, achieving growth of 120 per cent over the previous year.

In recent months, numerous auto makers, including Volvo, Porsche, General Motors and Ford, have made commitments to electrifying their fleet and giving electric vehicles an increasingly central role to play in their respective futures. Nearly every auto maker now has at least one hybrid or electric vehicle in their lineup, providing consumers plenty of great alternatives to their internal-combustion-based counterparts.

Extremely attractive government incentives are also available on electric vehicle purchases in British Columbia, Quebec and Ontario, which are applied over and above regular manufacturer incentives. We’ve featured some of our favourite offers this week on electric vehicles. If you don’t find an offer that suits you, be sure to check out the new Globe Drive Build and Price Tool to see the latest incentives and discounts on any new car, truck or SUV.
