Baby in the car seat? Check. Diaper bag? Check. Bottle, toys, wipes and snacks within reach? Nope. Ahhh, you need a car seat organizer to make the trip go smoothly. This seat organizer is from Toys "R" Us, but variations on style and cost can be found in any auto department. I liked this one because it was inexpensive and had two sturdy straps to hold it snugly to the front seat so that any amount of stuff could be held securely. And, it's thin so I can't really jam in needless things like the kitchen sink. If the baby needs more – maybe we should pull over.
It works well. By attaching it to the back of the driver's seat, whoever is riding in the passenger seat has easy access to a fresh supply of toys, bottles, soothers or snacks. As the child grows, the utility shifts to holding headphones, electronics and even bigger snacks.
I've always liked road games and the zipper and flap pockets are perfect for hiding "what am I." A new stuffed animal or snack can stay hidden for many kilometres of game time with the preschoolers.
