Do you know if there is any law in Canada preventing children requiring car seats from being in a soft-top convertible? – Stacy

There are no such laws.

Convertibles – whether hard- or soft-top – must meet the same safety regulations as any other passenger vehicle. Most come with a full complement of airbags, but in many, additional bags are used to protect occupants in the event of a rollover.

Most convertibles have much stronger A-pillars and many have roll bars placed behind the rear seat or ones that deploy in a rollover.
