Electronic dance music star Deadmau5 was moonlighting on the streets of Toronto on Wednesday night to help promote a new service being offered by Uber.

The controversial company recently launched its uberX service in Toronto, which offers rides up to 40-per-cent cheaper than traditional cab fare. Drivers who meet Uber's safety standards and pass a background check can sign up to join the service, with the company taking a cut of their fares.

Deadmau5 was cruising as an uberX driver Wednesday, and according to photos posted to Twitter, he picked up at least two riders.
