“There are no restrictions on form or shape when using carbon fibre,” writes Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Design Director on the company’s website, “and the material allowed us to wrap bodywork around the 20-inch wheels and maintain the precise relationship between the wheel and the bodywork.”

All Aston Martin sports car engines are hand assembled at the company’s engine plant in Cologne, Germany. The new Vanquish has a rear-mid mounted, six-speed touchtronic 2 automatic transmission, and a front-mid mounted rear-wheel-drive engine producing 565 horsepower/457 lb-ft torque.

Standard features include heated front seats, a variety of airbags, cruise control, powerfold exterior heated mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, and an alarm and immobiliser.
