Ford has changed fuel consumption ratings on the Fiesta, C-Max hybrid, Fusion hybrid, MKZ hybrid, C-Max Energi and Fusion Energi, and will compensate lease and purchase customers with goodwill payments in Canada ranging from $125 to $925, the company announced on Thursday. Both 2013- and 2014-model year vehicles are affected.
In a media release, the company stated that internal testing caught the errors, and it subsequently worked with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to re-test its full lineup of vehicles. An estimated 200,000 vehicles in the U.S. and 13,000 in Canada are affected.
