Houston, Texas

Keep this in mind should you be planning to drive stateside any time soon: Houston has the least courteous drivers in the nation, according to the 2014 In The Driver's Seat Road Rage Survey.

Atlanta, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Boston finished second through fifth.

At the other end of the spectrum, Portland, Ore., retained its crown as the city with the most courteous drivers. Pittsburgh, St. Louis, San Francisco and Charlotte were ranked second through fifth.

In 2009, the last year this survey was conducted, New York City had the nastiest drivers.

The study, commissioned by AutoVantage, a roadside service company, surveyed 2,500 drivers in each of 25 major American cities about attitudes toward road rage.
