There are a few reasons to avoid stick people stickers on your car.The Globe and Mail

Summer's here and it's time to hit the open road. But who would you rather take a road trip with – mom or dad?

The answer, according to a new survey, is mom. Dad may be a better driver, say 63 per cent of respondents, but mom is the preferred choice of 54 per cent.

And why is mom No. 1? Survey respondents said mom keeps the car neater (64 per cent), chooses better music (60 per cent) and, at rest breaks, would rather sit down to eat (63 per cent).

Furthermore, those surveyed said father is more likely to fart (77 per cent), drive too fast (69 per cent), and suffer an attack of road rage (74 per cent).

However, in defence of dad, respondents said that mom talks too much (73 per cent) and engages in "deep conversations" from which there is no escape (63 per cent). She also takes too many bathroom breaks (71 per cent) and drives too slowly (67 per cent).

The survey of 400 American men and women, all of whom have parents aged 65 and older who are still driving, was commissioned by Visiting Angels Living Assistance Services.
