Each of our four strategists started with a hypothetical $50,000 portfolio. They are each allowed to hold five to 12 Canadian or U.S. securities and trade as often or as little as they see fit.

Andrew Hallam, a "wealthy school teacher" and our index investor, believes a diversified, low-cost portfolio of exchange-traded funds is the best choice for people who are interested in growing their wealth but have a realistic sense of how hard it is to consistently beat the markets.
