Monday, March 10

Japan releases its latest revision on fourth-quarter GDP and its January current account deficit.

China releases its February trade surplus and inflation figures.

European Central Bank President Mario Draghi is testifying at a European Parliament hearing.

(815 a.m. ET) Canada releases housing starts for February. They are forecast to rise 5.5 per cent to an annual rate of 190,000 after falling 3.7 per cent in January.

Tuesday, March 11

Bank of Japan policy statement following two-day meeting.

Leaders of China's central bank and bank and securities regulators talk at news conference about financial system reform.

(10 a.m. ET) U.S. Commerce Department releases wholesale trade inventories for January. They are forecast to rise 0.3 per cent.

Earnings include: Aecon; Baytex Energy; Caesars Entertainment; Transcontinental; American Eagle Outfitters; Diamond Foods; Dick's Sporting Goods.

Wednesday, March 12

(9 a.m. ET) Teranet releases its February home house price index for Canada.

(2 p.m. ET) U.S. Treasury releases federal budget for February

Earnings include: Ag Growth; Cervus Equipment; Nevsun; Semafo; Rocky Mountain Dealerships; Gasfrac Energy Services; Crescent Point Energy; Krispy Kreme Doughnuts; Men's Wearhouse; Vail Resorts; Williams-Sonoma.

Thursday, March 13

China releases February industrial production and retail sales data.

(830 a.m. ET) Statistics Canada releases Canada's international investment position for the fourth-quarter, industrial capacity utilization rates for the fourth-quarter and the new housing price index for January.

(830 a.m ET) U.S. Labor Department releases weekly jobless claims.

(830 a.m. ET) U.S. Commerce Department releases retail sales data for February. The Street expects a rise of 0.2 per cent, after weakening 0.4 per cent in January.

(830 a.m. ET) U.S. releases import and export prices.

(10 a.m. ET) U.S. Commerce Department releases business inventories for January.

Friday, March 14

(830 a.m. ET) Statistics Canada releases the national balance sheet and financial flow accounts for the fourth-quarter.

(830 a.m. ET) U.S. Labor Department releases the Producer Price Index for February. The consensus is for a rise of 0.2 per cent, matching January's gain.

(9 a.m. ET) Canada releases the MLS home price index in February, forecast to rise 4.9 per cent from a year earlier after rising 4.8 per cent in January.

(955 a.m. ET) The latest consumer sentiment reading from the University of Michigan. The consensus is for a reading of 82.0, up from February's reading of 81.6.

Earnings include: Stella-Jones; InnVest Real Estate Investment Trust.
