The S&P/TSX composite index has pushed its way into the black with mining and energy stocks providing the lift. Having fallen as far as 13,581.6 at the opening bell, the index bad climbed back to 13,656.59 by about 11 a.m. (EDT), up 13.6 points from Thursday's close. Among the leading gainers were Precision Drilling, up 4.68 per cent to $16.55, Potash Corp., up 4.07 per cent to $141.75 and Advantage Energy Income Fund, up 3.7 per cent to $9.54.
