Gennum Corporation , a supplier of semiconductors, will probably beat an existing year high $8.44 and may even double today after announcing it has entered into a definitive arrangement agreement for Semtech Corporation , to acquire all of the outstanding shares of Gennum for a total consideration of approximately $500-million (CAN). Gennum shareholders to receive $13.55 per common share.



Vendome Resources Corp. , which closed Monday near a year high 22 cents, announced additional high grade chip and channel samples from its San Javier Mine property located within the municipality of Malinaltepec, State of Guerrero, Mexico. Meanwhile, Almaden Minerals Ltd. , which lost more than 4 per cent yesterday, announced results from the 2011 drilling program on the company's 100 per cent owned Tuligtic project, Mexico.



Calibre Mining yesterday gained another 12 cents or 32 per cent in closing at 49.5 cents -- its highest level in around 4.5 years -- with more than 17 million shares traded. This added to the more than 100 per cent it gained on Friday when more than 22.5 million shares traded. Calibre and B2Gold on Friday announced results from the first three diamond drill holes from the Primavera project within the Borosi concession in north east Nicaragua.



Goldbrook Ventures Inc. yesterday closed flat at 35.5 cents, but equalled an 18 month high 36 cents with close to 6-million shares traded. GBK hit 36 cents Friday with more than 5.7-million shares traded after announcing that it has entered into a support agreement with Jilin Jien Nickel Industry Co., Ltd. pursuant to which Jilin Jien has agreed to make an offer to acquire all of the outstanding common shares of the company for C$0.39 per share.



CardioComm Solutions, Inc. , a global medical provider of ECG acquisition and management software solutions, added to the 9 cent gained Friday and was up another 1.5 cents yesterday, its highest level in more than 3 years. Friday, it received clearance from the Food and Drug Administration for over-the-counter sales and marketing of their consumer-based, hand-held heart rhythm monitor known as the HeartCheck Pen Handheld ECG.



Tembec , which gained more than 2 per cent yesterday and is slated to release its latest earnings Thursday, said it supports the extension of the Softwood Lumber Agreement between Canada and the United States for two years.

Endeavour Silver Corp. announced today a review of its exploration results in 2011 and its exploration plans for 2012. The company's exploration drilling programs in Mexico were highlighted by the discovery of several new, high-grade silver-gold veins at its 2 silver mining operations, the Guanacevi Mine in Durango State, and the Guanajuato Mine in Guanajuato State. In 2012, the company also plans a $15-million, 70,000 meter, 250 hole surface exploration drill program to test multiple exploration targets.





Cortex Business Solutions Inc. announced today its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2012. The company reported a net loss amounting to $2.1-million, an improvement of 7 per cent from fourth quarter 2011. This was after revenues jumped 43 per cent to $1.2-million from $844,756 in fourth quarter 2011. Expenses, however, also increased 7 per cent to $3.3-million during the quarter.





Sandvine Corporation , provider of intelligent broadband network solutions, announced today that it has successfully deployed its Network Policy Control solutions in three North American wireless networks, BendBroadband, FRC/The Blue Zone and Main Street Broadband. The company said all 3 operators became Sandvine customers in fiscal 2011 and provide fixed-wireless service using a variety of access technologies including WiMAX, satellite, 3G and 4G.





Macarthur Minerals Limited today announced a 51 per cent increase in the indicated resource at the Ularring Project to 13.01Mt. The inferred resource has also increased to 16.95Mt which represents a 3 per cent increase. President, Chairman and CEO Alan Phillips said: "This demonstrates that the geological team is effectively converting the inferred resource potential into indicated as well as improving the in-situ grade and continues to identifying further tonnage."
