Mercer International Inc. abandoned its battle with AbitibiBowater Inc. for control of pulp maker Fibrek Inc. .

Advantage Oil & Gas Ltd. announced a $74.7-million secondary offering of Longview Oil Corp. common shares and updated its guidance through June 2013.

Atna Resources Ltd. , which rose more than 5 per cent on Monday, announced that its board of directors has adopted a shareholder rights plan, effective April 27, 2012. Atna said it is not aware of any specific take-over bid for it that has been made or is being contemplated.

Thermal Energy International Inc. , which is trading at year lows, posted a third quarter net loss of $31,854 for 2012 compared to $53,611 for the third quarter 2011. It had third quarter revenue of $3.6-million, compared to $1.9-million in the thind quarter 2011 (up 92 per cent).

A&W Revenue Royalties Income Fund , which eased off year highs on Monday, will host a conference call at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday to review first quarter financial results and corporate developments which were slated to be released this morning.

Brookfield Real Estate Services Inc. will host a conference call on today at 2 pm ET to discuss its first quarter financial results.

Midas Gold Corp. which closed down by a cent yesterday, announced today additional assay results from its continuing drilling campaign at its Golden Meadows Project. Drilling at both Hangar Flats and Yellow Pine intersected strong gold-silver-antimony-tungsten mineralization over significant intervals beneath or adjacent to the limits of conceptual pits used to constrain prior mineral resource estimates.

Biotechnology company Kane Biotech Inc. today announced that it has developed a pet oral care formulation called StrixNB.

Stella-Jones Inc. which closed 27 cents higher yesterday, announced today that it has signed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire certain assets of Brisco Wood Preservers Ltd., a provider of treated wood poles located in British Columbia.

Amorfix Life Sciences Ltd. which was trading close to year highs yesterday, announced today that it has established a collaboration with Dr. Detlev Riesner, a researcher in prion diagnostics.
