Nordion Inc. , a provider of products and services for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease, launched a new custom dose feature in Europe and Canada for TheraSphere, Nordion's Y-90 microsphere treatment for liver cancer. Nordion has also filed a request with the Food and Drug Administration for approval of the custom dose feature in the United States.
Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. , which rose 5.5 per cent on Friday, reported net income of $19.53-million (U.S.) in its fourth-quarter results compared to $16-million in 2010, an increase of 22 per cent. This represented earnings per share of $0.16, compared to $0.15 in 2010, an increase of 7 per cent.

Terra Nova Minerals Inc. announced that it has signed a letter of intent with Holloman Energy Corporation of Houston, Texas to acquire up to a 55 per cent working interest in two onshore petroleum exploration licenses located on the western flank of the Cooper Basin in the State of South Australia.
Atna Resources Ltd. , which was 5 per cent higher at Friday's close, announced today that it generated net income of $11.6-million, or $.10 per share, in the fourth quarter of 2011. It has sold 8,423 ounces of gold for the quarter, an 8 per cent increase over fourth quarter 2010 to produce $14.1-million in gross revenue, a 39 per cent increase over the same period in 2010.
VIQ Solutions Inc. said it has been awarded a contract for digital audio capture in Botswana with local reseller Digital Voice Processing. Under the contract, VIQ will provide digital audio capture and management software to the Botswana High Court in Gaborone, Botswana.
WesternZagros Resources Ltd. , which was in the red at Friday's close, could open higher today, as it made a major oil discovery in the Oligocene reservoir at the Kurdamir-2 exploration well in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Simon Hatfield, CEO, said: "The Kurdamir-2 discovery is the third high-impact discovery on our Blocks in ten months and is an important confirmation of our queue of high-quality, light oil exploration opportunities."
Vecima Networks Inc. , which was closer to year highs on Friday, announced today that it has executed an OEM agreement for a new network platform with a prominent digital video access equipment vendor. Under the agreement, Vecima will design, manufacture and supply network equipment platforms that interface to the already deployed network devices which are used to provide digital video services.
