Lululemon Athletica Inc. has hired former Crocs executive Chris Ladd as senior vice-president of its recently revamped e-commerce division.

The retailer of yoga-inspired clothing said Thursday that Ladd will head online business strategy, which includes global expansion plans for the website's services.

Mr. Ladd previously worked as Crocs' senior vice-president of global marketing, where he handled retail merchandising and design concepts, social media as well as 23 websites.

"Chris has the right combination of leadership and experience to guide Lululemon into new areas of growth," said chief executive officer Christine Day.

"He has a proven track record for building innovative and profitable online businesses and building global infrastructures."

The Vancouver-based company has been working to grow its earnings by building a stronger online presence.

Lululemon completed a massive overhaul of its e-commerce site earlier this year and plans to ramp up its online presence through social media, web advertising and mobile applications.
