The Buy High, Sell Low Investing Plan The media fuss over the recent surge by the U.S. stock markets seems likely to trigger another cycle of investors buying high and selling low. Read all about it here, and pay close attention to the chart showing the buying and selling patterns of U.S. mutual fund investors. It's no different here in Canada.

How can you avoid the buy high, sell low treadmill? Consider dollar-cost averaging, where you put money in market gradually rather that in a lump sum. It's not the most effective way to invest, but it might be the most beneficial to your emotional well being if you fear a stock market plunge.
