For most Canadians, taxes are a must-do annual task that many of us find tedious, cumbersome, complicated or intimidating. And now, as added pressure, the April 30 deadline is here - which means you have until midnight to file!

Last week: A Let's Talk Investing Video looks at what Americans living in Canada need to do to stay in the Internal Revenue Service's good books. A second video with tax tips for Americans living in Canada went up on Wednesday. Preet Banerjee suggested things to do with your tax refund. Tim Cestnick wrote about in trust accounts in his weekly Ask a Tax Expert feature and offshore trusts in his regular GI column. This Home Cents blog post explored whether it makes financial sense to donate to charity at the checkout counter.

Second week: We started off the week with features on organizing your financial records and top 10 small business tax questions. Stories on making sure your kids are a tax credit to you and a blog post on seven tax surprises followed. Our weekly Ask a Tax Expert feature ran as well as this Tim Cestnick primer on Tax Form T2091.

First week: We launch the site this week with a piece about tax planning, with tips on how to avoid an audit , and an excerpt from chartered accountant Robin Taub's A Parent's Guide to Raising Money-Smart Kids. Our new weekly Ask a Tax Expert series kicked off with Globe Investor tax columnist Tim Cestnick answering the first reader question. We had an online discussion on the topic of young people and taxes, as well as a piece on why some people are afraid to file. Here are 10 things you need to know when preparing a tax return.
