Score Media Inc. posted a $1.3-million loss for its latest quarter as it increased spending on product development and efforts to win sales in the U.S. market.

The Toronto-based sports-oriented media company says second-quarter revenue fell by about half a million dollars from a year earlier to $10.4-million.

Score Media said it expects to see positive results from its U.S. sales efforts in the next two quarters.

The loss for the quarter ended Feb. 29 amounted to two cents per share, before adjustments.

A year earlier, Score broke even with $225,000 of net income and $10.9-million of revenue.
