Heavy equipment, industrial component and power system provider Wajax Corp. has brought in a former executive of retailers Canadian Tire and Zellers to head the company.

The Toronto-based firm said Tuesday that Mark Foote will take role of president and chief executive officer starting March 5, 2012, replacing Neil Manning.

Mr. Foote has worked as president and CEO of Zellers since 2008, and prior to that was president of retail at Canadian Tire.

He also served as president and chief merchandising officer at Loblaw Companies where he handled merchandising and supply chain responsibilities.

Wajax distributes and provides service support for heavy equipment, industrial components and power systems with 117 branches across Canada.
