Whistler Blackcomb Holdings Inc. , which became a public company last year, reported a net loss of $6.8-million, or 18 cents per share, in its third quarter.

The alpine skiing venue also reports revenue of $30.5-million during the quarter as it met a post-Olympic goal to exceed two million skier visits.

Whistler Blackcomb, about 125 kilometres from Vancouver, was the main alpine skiing venue for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Skier visits and effective ticket prices also returned to pre-2010 Olympic levels during the quarter.

The resort operator closed its IPO and acquisition of a 75 per cent interest in the partnerships that own the Whistler Blackcomb resort in British Columbia last Nov. 9.
