Village Farms International Inc. (VFF-T) says it’s raising $10-million in a private placement. It has agreed to issue about 1.9 million of its common shares “to certain accredited investors” at a price of $5.30 each. The stock closed at $5.83 on Friday. The company said the net proceeds will be used “if required” to contribute capital to Pure Sunfarms Corp., its 50-per-cent owned joint venture.

Invictus MD Strategies Corp. (GENE-X), the company which has rock legend Gene Simmons as it chief evangelist officer, says it has received its sales license from Health Canada under the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations, effective May 18. “This is the crowning milestone in our licensing journey for Invictus, as we march towards fulfilling capacity goals during this historic and important year for Canada’s cannabis industry,” stated Invictus chairman and CEO Dan Kriznic said in a release.

Uranium Participation Corp. (U-T) says it’s raising $20-million in a bought-deal financing. It has an agreement with a syndicate of underwriters to purchase about 4.9 million common shares of the company for $4.10 each. The stock closed at $4.24 on Friday. The net proceeds will be used to fund future purchases of U3O8 and/or UF6 and for general corporate purposes, the company said.

Viemed Healthcare Inc. (VMD-X), a home medical equipment supplier that provides post-acute respiratory care services in the U.S., says it has received final approval to graduate to the Toronto Stock Exchange from the TSX Venture Exchange, as of May 23.

Cronos Group Inc. (CRON-Q; CRON-X) says its common shares in Canada will be elevated to the Toronto Stock Exchange from the TSX Venture Exchange on May 23. “The up listing to TSX is a reflection of the growth and progress we have made globally and within the Canadian market,” said CEO Mike Gorenstein.

The Green Organic Dutchman Holdings Ltd. (TGOD-T) says it has entered into an exclusive agreement with CBx Enterprises LLC to license the Evolab and CBx Sciences brands, technologies and formulations within Canada and other international jurisdictions outside of the U.S.

WestJet Airlines (WJA-T) says they are confident they will reach an agreement with their pilots as negotiations continue this week.

The Calgary-based airline’s pilots have had the legal right to commence job action since Saturday, but said they wouldn’t disrupt travel plans over the Victoria Day long weekend.

The Air Line Pilots Association, which represents WestJet’s pilots, says they will return to the bargaining table in Halifax this week.

Neither side says whether progress had been made, but both say they were confident an agreement could be made.

Meanwhile, other Canadian airlines have taken the opportunity to increase flight availability and provide deals in case of a strike.

Air Canada said they would make larger aircraft available on some flights in case of a strike, and Flair Airlines said they would match prices for customers affected by a possible strike.

ICC Labs Inc. (ICC-X) says it has signed a letter of intent with CanPharma GmbH, a licensed importer and wholesaler of narcotics in Germany, to export cannabis products to that country from its facilities in Uruguay and Colombia. It said the proposed agreement is part of its “strategy to gain a foothold in the European markets.”
