PERSON BLAKE LIVELY

On screen as well as off, Gossip Girl 's Blake Lively sports an enviable array of designer clothes that put her, erm, assets on full display.

So it's no surprise that the actress - who shows surprising dramatic chops in the new film The Private Lives of Pippa Lee - is being tapped as a style muse by former Spice Girl/dress designer/professionally skinny person Victoria Beckham, who has reportedly asked Lively to model for her new lookbook.

Modelling for Posh? Remember: No smiling.

PLACE BARNEYS NEW YORK

Live from New York, it's Barneys!

This year, the department store's holiday windows pay fashionable tribute to late-night staple Saturday Night Live, which is celebrating 35 years on the air. Two dozen of the show's favourite characters, from the Coneheads to Wayne and Garth, have been transformed into life-sized, papier-mâché ornaments for hanging in the windows on Madison Avenue.

We're not sure if they're hiring live models as well, but it would be nice to give Chris Kattan something to do.

THING MISSED CONNECTIONS ILLUSTRATED

"You were the one with the awesome illustration website. Wanna meet for coffee?"

Craigslist's Missed Connections feature is a popular virtual bulletin board that allows people in various cities to post "I saw you and liked what I saw but didn't talk to you and regret it" messages in the (often vain) hope that the object of their affection noticed them too and wants to see them again.

Now, Brooklyn artist Sophie Blackall is illustrating the plaintive, romantic and hilarious messages in pencil and watercolour drawings on her pretty blog (see http://missedconnectionsny.blogspot.com).

Get on board soon - it's probably just a matter of time until she gets a book deal.
