As demonstrated in Fight Club and other films, Brad Pitt can take a punch and keep on smiling.

The 50-year-old actor was reportedly struck in the face by a Ukrainian "serial prankster" on a red carpet in Hollywood last night.

Pitt was attending the premiere of his partner Angelina Jolie's newest film, Maleficent, at the El Capitan Theatre when a man leaped over the crowd barrier and rushed him, reportedly striking him in the face, according to Variety.

Pitt, who attended the premiere with five of his children, is believed to have not been injured in the altercation, reports the Daily Mail.

Pitt's assailant has been identified as Vitalii Sediuk, a Ukrainian TV reporter with a reputation for pranking celebrities.

As can be seen in the amateur video of the incident on the Daily Mail site, Pitt was dutifully signing autographs when Sediuk broke through the security barriers.

The scene erupted into chaos as security personnel wrestled Sediuk to the ground.

The same video clip shows Los Angeles police officers handcuffing Sediuk and taking him away in a cruiser. Sediuk was arrested for misdemeanor battery and remains in police custody.

LAPD spokesperson Gus Villanueva confirmed that Pitt was not seriously injured in the attack, according to the Daily Mail.

So what did Brad Pitt do? He brushed himself off and went back to signing autographs for his fans.

Sediuk has previously made headlines for attempting to crudely interact with celebrities.

Among other incidents: In 2012, Sediuk attempted to kiss Will Smith (who gave him a mild slap in the face for his efforts) on a red carpet.

At the Santa Barbara film festival last February, Sediuk dropped to his knees on the red carpet and shoved his face in Leonardo DiCaprio's crotch. DiCaprio laughed it off and walked away.

And in his most infamous incident, Sediuk was arrested at the 2013 Grammys after he crashed the stage at the moment British singer Adele was announced as an award-winner.

Before Adele could make her way up to the stairs, Sediuk ran to the podium to accept the trophy from presenters Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull. Sediuk was arrested in the incident and spent the night in a police cell.
