THIGHS WIDE SHUT

Did Beyoncé sanction the photoshopping of a "thigh gap" into a vacation photograph? On Thursday, the pop star went on her blog to post a photo of herself playing golf in the Dominican Republic. Within minutes, photoshop-savvy fans accused the singer of altering one of the photos to make her thighs appear thinner. In the photo in question, Beyoncé is shown putting on a golf course in a two-piece retro bikini, and her thighs look noticeably more slender than usual. Naturally, the claims of photo-doctoring quickly spread to Twitter, where user Jessica Wakeman said, "With her money, Beyoncé should be able to pay someone who is better at Photoshop."

FAMILY CONTRACT

In what seems to be turning into a Disney tradition, Selena Gomez has fired her mother and stepfather from managing her career. According to TMZ sources, the 21-year-old star released her former legal guardians Mandy and Brian Teefey from their managerial duties last month. The couple had managed the actress-singer's career since her breakout role on the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place in 2009. In the past year, Gomez has reportedly butted heads with her parents on several issues, most notably her dating Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.

NEVER MIND

Courtney Love was front and centre for Nirvana's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but daughter Frances Bean was nowhere in sight. The widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain looked clear-eyed and sharp in a red gown as she took the stage for the ceremony at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Thursday night. Nirvana disbanded in 1994 shortly after Cobain took his own life. In her brief address, Love, 49, said, "I just wish Kurt was here to do this." Love and Cobain's daughter Frances Bean, now 21, famously filed a restraining order against her mother in 2009.

THANKS, DAD

Don't worry about Robin Thicke in the wake of his looming divorce from actress Paula Patton: His father Alan Thicke says everything is fine. Thicke the elder appeared this week on ET Canada and said his son and soon-to-be ex-wife are handling the breakup remarkably well. "They're doing great and Robin is pouring himself into the musical artistry," said Thicke. As for whether the couple might get back together, Thicke said cryptically, "They're grownups. I wouldn't bet on them one way or another." Thicke also dished details on his upcoming reality series Unusually Thicke, which documents his life with second wife Tanya and teen son Carter. "It's real-life drama, real-life things that happen in our life together," he said. Unusually Thicke debuts on Slice on April 16.

ROYAL TOUR

It wouldn't be a proper tour of New Zealand for Prince William and Kate Middleton without meeting Peter Jackson. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met the Lord of the Rings director during a visit to an aviation museum on the country's south island this week. Jackson provided the royal couple a tour of his collection of First World War aircraft that are currently on display at the facility. Still to come for Kate and William will be a visit to the city of Christchurch, which was devastated by an earthquake in 2011.

LEGAL BRIEFS

Katherine Heigl is suing a drugstore chain for tweeting a photo of her shopping there. The former Grey's Anatomy star filed a federal lawsuit this week against the Duane Reade chain for posting a Twitter of her leaving one of their New York stores along with the comment, "Even Katherine Heigl can't resist shopping at NYC's most convenient drugstore." The photo was subsequently featured on a celebrity website and Heigl claims that Duane Reade misappropriated her image. If Heigl wins the lawsuit, she says any money received will go toward a charity she founded in the memory of her late brother, who died in a car crash as a teenager.
