Piers Morgan was recently grilled by British investigators in connection to a continuing police inquiry into phone hacking. The CNN host revealed Friday that he was interviewed while visiting his homeland in December by officers looking into claims journalists routinely hacked into people's voice mails in order to obtain stories. The police investigation is known as Operation Weeting. In a prepared statement, Morgan admitted: "In early November I was asked to attend an interview by officers from Operation Weeting when I was in the U.K. This was further to a full witness statement I had already freely provided. I attended that interview as requested on December 6, 2013." Morgan previously served as editor of the British newspapers News of the World and The Daily Mirror.

Note to Tina Maze: Get yourself a Hollywood agent. Besides winning the gold medal in the women's downhill event this week, the 30-year-old athlete is also a pop star in her native Slovenia. Maze's breakout single, titled My Way is My Decision, reached the top of the Slovenian music charts in 2012. The power anthem features Maze playing her ski like an air guitar and dancing in her ski garb. Maze previously won two silver medals at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games and also has her own jewellery line.

Is Justin Bieber truly mulling a move to Atlanta? TMZ sources claim the Canadian pop star has fallen in love with the sprawling Georgian city and has spent the past week there. While in town, the Biebs has allegedly been partying with the recording mogul known as Diddy and rappers T.I. and Rick Ross, who have reportedly been telling him where the best real-estate buys can be found. Adding substance to the rumour is the belief that Bieber is slowly transitioning his musical tastes toward hip-hop music, as evinced in his current nickname: Bizzle.

NYE LIVES!

Rumours of the death of Bill Nye have been greatly exaggerated. False reports of the TV educator's demise circulated yesterday on Facebook and Twitter, a good percentage of them bearing the headline: "Bill Nye Found Dead. Suspect apprehended claims 'God made me do it!'" The hoax was initiated in connection to the recent evolution-versus-creatonism debate between Nye and religious leader Ken Ham. At last check, Nye, 58, was alive and well.

NO RESPECT

Nicki Minaj has apologized for inappropriate use of a picture of Malcolm X. The pop singer recently posted a doctored version of an iconic photograph of the sixties civil-rights activist – in which he's shown holding a machine gun – to her website; the new version was also accompanied by a racist epithet and appeared on Minaj's Instagram page in support of her new single. By Friday, the image had been removed from both locations and Minaj issued the following statement: "I apologize to the Malcolm X estate if the meaning of the photo was misconstrued. I have nothing but respect and adoration for u."
