Scout Willis

NAKED TRUTH

Her mother bared her breasts in Striptease and her father has gone shirtless in countless movies – so why wouldn't Scout Willis walk topless around the streets of New York?

The 22-year-old daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis went au naturel (from the waist up) for a stroll in the Big Apple this week as a protest against Instagram's policy against nudity.

In recent weeks, the social-media site has been criticized for deleting pictures of breast-cancer survivors and women breastfeeding.

On Tuesday, Willis tweeted a photograph of herself shopping for flowers in downtown New York with the caption, "Legal in NYC but not on @instagram."

Willis, who has worked as both an actress and model, also issued the tweet, "My comfort with my body should not be dictated by how others perceive me. However, I don't wish to force this view on anyone."

Willis even changed her Instagram name to "Scout (Aerola) Willis" before the account was deleted.

According to the Instagram terms of service, "You may not post violent, nude, partially nude, discriminatory, unlawful, infringing, hateful, pornographic or sexually suggestive photos or other content."

Earlier this month, Rihanna posted several half-nude photos taken from a French photo shoot to her Instagram account.

Instagram responded by temporarily suspending the singer's account and ordering her to remove the photos.

Rihanna countered by posting the same pictures on to her Twitter account.

BOOK BONANZA

Levar Burton's plan to resurrect Reading Rainbow has found its pot of gold. Within hours of the launch of the Kickstarter campaign to bring back the venerable PBS kids show as a Web series, the project had already hit its goal of $1-million (U.S.). Mounted by Burton, the campaign had originally set a deadline date of July 2 to raise the cash. "Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that we would reach our goal on the very first day," said the former Star Trek: The Next Generation star. "People are getting involved. It's been pretty overwhelming."

FREE MUSIC

How much did Lana Del Rey get paid to sing at last weekend's wedding of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West? Not one penny, says the singer. Brushing off reports that she received $2.8-million (U.S.) to perform three songs at the wedding ceremony in Florence, Italy, Del Rey told TMZ this week that she received no compensation for the gig. When asked by a TMZ correspondent how much it would cost the cameraman to have her sing at his wedding, Del Rey said, "I'd do it for free just like I did this one." Added Del Rey: "I would never let a friend pay me to sing at a wedding."
