Animal welfare charity PETA is once again not impressed with Lady Gaga, but this time the advocacy group isn`t criticizing the singer's personal style.

Famous for wearing outrageously kooky outfits, Stefani Germanotta, aka Lady Gaga, is channeling her fashion flare through pet French bulldog Asia, and PETA is not happy.

This Wednesday, the ARTPOP-singer shared several photographs of pint-sized Asia draped in heavy jewellry. In one picture, the bulldog is done up in matching pink and turquoise necklace and earrings with a contrasting bejewelled bracelet. In another photo, Asia wears a gemstone necklace like a face mask, her eyes gazing sheepishly through the gold chain.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals criticized the 28-year-old star's decision to accessorize Asia, whom she adopted in April.

"Lady Gaga may choose to decorate herself with elaborate and even uncomfortable outfits, but Asia doesn`t get to make that choice," a PETA representative told US Weekly.

Asia, affectionately nicknamed BatPig, is a recurring subject in the images on the celebrity's Instagram account. Just last week, Lady Gaga posted a picture of the bulldog wearing an oversized Elizabethan-style ruffle collar. The star also shared a shot of the pooch snoozing with a mini bottle of Jameson.

PETA's beef with Lady Gaga began four years ago when she attended the MTV Video Music Awards wearing a dress and boots made of raw flank steak. The singer defended her ensemble on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, saying that the outfit was her way of standing up for gay soldier's rights.

"If we don't stand up for what we believe in, if we don't fight for our rights, pretty soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones," she told host Ellen DeGeneres, according to Billboard.

Two years ago, the animal rights organization berated the musician for donning a white fox head scarf in Germany. "PETA is considering passing the hat so that someone can buy her a heart," said spokesperson Wendy Wegner, according to RadarOnline.

Lady Gaga defended her right to wear fur on her website LittleMonsters, writing, "You see a carcass, I see a museum pièce de résistance. But I am truly sorry to fans who are upset by this, its a fair and applaudable feeling about the health and safety of animals. I respect your views, please respect mine."

It`s not the only scandal of the week for the Paparazzi-singer.

Yesterday, TMZ leaked a clip of an unreleased Lady Gaga music video directed by Terry Richardson. The clip features a duet with R. Kelly called Do What U Want. The sexually suggestive video was officially scrapped because time constraints, reports TMZ, but the gossip site speculates that fear of backlash related to sexual assault allegations against Richardon may be behind the decision.

The singer`s upcoming album Cheek to Cheek is a collaboration with American singer Tony Bennett.

ALL CLEAR

Annie Leibovitz's professional reputation is in the clear. Earlier this week, rapper Kanye West said the photographer had ditched work at his May wedding to Kim Kardashian in Florence, Italy. The Yeezus-singer complained that he and his wife had to spend four days perfecting their wedding photo before posting it to Instagram. Leibovitz and Kanye have since released a joint statement to correct Kanye's comments: The famous photographer never dropped out because, actually, her attendance had never been confirmed. Leibovitz previously shot the celebrity couple for a controversial April Vogue cover.

NO CLUE

The Good Wife star Alan Cumming, completely unaware of the sexual assault allegations surrounding Terry Richardson, tweeted a selfie of himself and the photographer at a shoot for Harper's Bazaar this week. After Twitter followers called out the actor, Cumming tweeted an apology for being out of the loop. The actor, who plays Eli Gold on the CBS show, has since deleted the photograph and apology.

LONELY CLOONEY

George Clooney went stag to his family reunion in Kentucky last week. The star's fiancee Amal Alamuddin, a British human rights lawyer, was a no-show at the annual Clooney affair because work kept her from leaving the U.K. The couple is still planning their September wedding in Italy, however, and Clooney`s aunt Starla is saying that Brad Pitt will be best man.

CAT CAR

The Canadian house music producer Joel Zimmerman, aka Deadmau5, is advertising his funky Ferrari via Craigslist and Twitter. Zimmerman wants $380,000 for the sports car but promises to give anything over that to the Toronto Humane Society. The car is a visual tribute to the internet meme Nyan Cat, a graphic cat with a Pop-Tart body that leaves a rainbow trail as it flies through space.
