Just in case anyone didn't get the message, Robin Thicke wants to get back together with his estranged wife.
The lovesick singer issued yet another emotional shout-out to Paula Patton during his appearance at the BET Awards on Sunday night.
Thicke began his stage turn by softly telling the crowd at the Nokia Theatre, "I'd like to dedicate this song to my wife and say, 'I miss you and I'm sorry.' This is called Forever Love."
He then sat down at a grand piano and played the mournful track from his latest album – titled Paula – which includes the lyrics, "Every day I will believe that you and I are meant to be/You're my forever love."
Thicke and Patton announced they were separating last winter following almost nine years of marriage. The couple have a four-year-old son named Julian.
And Thicke, the son of Canadian-born sitcom star Alan Thicke, has made no secret of his desire to reconcile with his ex.
Several days after the news of their split went public last February, the Blurred Lines singer was pleading for his wife to forgive him during one of his concerts.
And then a few days later, he did it again.
A few weeks after that, Thicke dropped out of his scheduled appearance at the Juno Awards in Winnipeg – on the day of the show.
And four months later, Thicke still appears to be distraught over the breakup. At the BET Awards, he seemed shaky and emotional as illuminated graphics of Paula's name appeared on a screen behind him.
Unavoidably, Thicke's shaky state had people talking at the BET Awards. "Robin appeared to be crying during and after his performance," an unidentified audience member told Us Weekly.
Immediately following Thicke's performance, BET Awards host Chris Rock attempted to ease the awkwardness with a joke referencing Thicke's repeated apology performances.
"He's singing like she doesn't know him," quipped Rock. "I miss the other song, the one that sounded like Marvin Gaye." (A little too much like Marvin Gaye, as it turned out.)
Meanwhile, the object of Thicke's affections appears to be nonplussed about his efforts to reboot their relationship.
According to Us Weekly, Patton was even spotted dancing to Blurred Lines at an Oscars party last March.
