Are you a fabulously wealthy young Asian woman currently living the good life in downtown Vancouver?

If so, you could be the next great reality-TV star.

A Vancouver production company is currently casting for women to star in a new reality series tentatively titled Ultra Rich Asian Girls of Vancouver.

The program comes from producer HBIC TV, which confirms that most of the show will be in Chinese and that the focus will be on the privileged existences of young women who have inherited family fortunes.

HBIC producer Kevin Li says the show is currently searching for divas willing to share the reality spotlight.

"If you're into the high fashion, the couture, the fancy cars, and the foie gras dinners, and popping the champagnes on the weekend like it's every day," Li told CTV News.

Or more specifically: "You know, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, but in Vancouver with this demographic."

It's crossed our minds that this could all be a hoax, of course. But Li has been spreading the word about upcoming auditions and has been promoting the show, including in a television interview with CTV affiliate station BCTV.

The show has already cast some of its stars, including Crystal Chen and Lisa Li, who can be seen in the two-minute sample clip that was recently posted on YouTube.

In the clip, a well-coiffed young Asian woman posits the question, "As long as we have fun, who cares about spending a little bit of money?"

Tantalizing images of fast cars and jewellery figure prominently in the YouTube clip, which also includes scenes of the women trash-talking each other.

The show will likely begin online before it potentially moves to television, reports CTV.

A few days before the video was posted, HBIC created a Facebook page for the proposed series.

In both Chinese and English, the page asks, "Got a Centurion Black Amex Card? Hermès, Lanvin, Dior, Louboutin, Chanel, Lambos and Ferraris are all a part of the daily lives of our HBICtv Divas."

And as anyone could have predicted, the planned TV series has an Instagram account – already filled with images of Louboutin heels, Hermès handbags and high-end makeup products – and a Twitter page.

The show's producers recently tweeted out a casting call announcing that auditions for the series will take place in Vancouver on June 26.
