My feet take abuse in the winter and are dry and cracked by the time spring comes around. What can I do to take better care of them if I can't make it for regular pedicures by professionals?

To help keep your feet in prime condition, try this simple regimen: First, soak your feet in warm water for five minutes, then use an exfoliating scrub that is cream- or oil-based and rinse thoroughly. Once your feet are dry, slather them in a rich moisturizer and wrap your feet up in plastic, covering them in a pair of warm socks. This will help the skin absorb the cream and also keep you mobile. To get the maximum benefit, do this before going to bed. In the morning, remove the wraps and wipe off any excess moisturizer. If you do this twice a week, your feet, come the warmer weather, will be in perfect open-toed-shoe condition.
